چکیده
Simultaneous removal of $${\text{Cr}}^{3+}$$ and acidic dye from model tannery wastewater was investigated using local nano-clay modified by 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride surfactant. X-ray fluorescence, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen sulfur analysis, Brunauer–Emmet–Teller analysis pH zero-point charge ( $${pH}_{ZPC}$$ ) analyses were carried out for characterization the adsorbent, adsorptive properties clay batch experiments. The effects essential parameters, such as adsorbent dosage, initial solution pH, concentration, contact time, temperature, studied. Maximum adsorption values (99.74% 83.26% dye) obtained in following conditions: $$4$$ , concentration 100 mg/L, dosage 15,000 time $$30$$ min. effect contaminants’ also through response surface methodology, central composite face-centered design an empirical presented. results kinetic models’ studies demonstrated that simultaneous contaminants follows pseudo-second-order model, data single binary solutions fitted nonlinearly to isotherm models showed Cr (III) follow Langmuir Dubinin–Radushkevitch isotherms, respectively. Adsorption both Redlich-Peterson isotherm. capacities be 193.1390 $$\frac{\text{mg}}{{\text{g}}}$$ 144.1782 dye, Synergistic antagonistic adsorptions observed solutions.

متن کاملHexavalent chromium removal from a simulated wastewater using Fe(II) modified bentonite
Background and Objective: Hexavalent chromium is reported to be highly toxic, mutagenic and carcinogenic; hence treatment of water and wastewater contaminated with this element by low-cost and environmentally friendly methods is of great importance. Therefore the aim of present study was to evaluate the efficiency of Fe(II) modified bentonite for hexavalent chromium removal from a simulated was...
متن کاملHexavalent chromium removal in a tannery industry wastewater using rice husk silica
Present study dealt the removal of Cr(VI) in a tannery industry wastewater using rice husk silica powder as an adsorbent. The experimental investigations have been carried out by using rice husk silica powder for different adsorption dosage, different contact time and different pH against the initial Cr(VI) concentration of 292 mg/L. The maximum percentage removal of Cr(VI) in the tannery indust...
متن کاملContinuous removal of chromium from tannery wastewater using activated sludge process—Determination of kinetic parameters
The activated sludge has been acclimatized with chromium (VI) ions from 5 mg/L to 20 mg/L. It is observed that the chromium removal percentage, COD removal and mixed liquor suspended solid (MLSS) decrease with the increase in dilution rate. Maximum food to microorganisms ratio (F/M) is found to be 0.19. When initial metal ion concentration increases from 5 mg/L to 20 mg/L, the chromium removal ...
